Nice to see Innsbruck have a few days but I do wish Richmond would get more days! Use the world hack Ryan. I use it every day to ride in my favourite worlds. I rode in Innsbruck today with just 2 other people. The course changeover seems to be happening at i. Am I missing something? I noticed this as well a couple weeks ago, and forgot to update this post. All set now. The Cumbria weather has been atrocious and Zwift has been our saviour through winter. My husband is 79 and I am 73 but we still do miles a week. Good old Watopia. They should plug it into Watopia. I would love them to do something to combine this shorter worlds into one. I think the problem with that, is that the real world courses use real world GPS data, and I imagine they would want that to still be the case. London has an anomaly in that the Surrey Hills section is shown overlaid on part of the city itself rather than warping across the countryside … not quite so easy if you are moving from Innsbruck to Yorkshire. Totally agree that bologna would be nice to ride now and then outside of events. I like the calendar, but it would be nice to copy and save the guest calendar so it can be printed out or saved in my iphone pictures for each month. Go to this website on your computer and use the snipping tool to take a screenshot of the calendar and then save the picture to your phone or print it out or whatever. Thank you for listening zwift!!!! I am liking the better balance of guest worlds for February. I quite like NYC and London, but have been finding it frustrating having the UCI courses avaiable on so few days … particularly Yorkshire, which is just down the road from me in the real world. Probably never. Maybe there is going to be an expansion of the Richmond course.

Zwift fans looking for an experience in the big city can now breathe a sigh of relief, as new routes have just been added—and they are not exactly the ones you were expecting. So, with that in mind, they introduce you to New York City in the year The escapism of our New York world will transport Zwifters back to their video gaming days as they run through our futuristic take on New York, around Central Park and on the suspended glass roads above Manhattan. Central Park appears to be the main destination for many of the new routes. They will also take you by known landmarks such as the Guggenheim, the Met, and Tavern on the Green. Creating the city in a futuristic setting allowed for greater climbs and various environments for all distances and rides. This involved adding some elevated roads. In total, there are 13 new routes—three of which are run only—for users to experience. You can check them out at zwift. Bikes and Gear. Type keyword s to search. Today's Top Stories. The future of Zwift looks promising and exciting. I think the team at Zwift will exceed all our visions of what the future will look like over the next few years. New Worlds. There is probably nothing more exciting to a Zwifter than the release of a new world maybe an increase in FTP. It is likely that Zwift will release a new world in the next few months — What could it be? One part of a world may consist of lots of forests, mountains and lakes, a bit like the Tour de Suisse or Tour of Austria, whilst the other part may be sandy, dry and flat with a scene similar to that of the Dubai Tour and the Tour of Oman. The launch of the Tacx Magnum in has sparked interest and excitement amongst cyclists and runners, for a number of reasons. According to BikeRadar, if you push too far forward it will gently increase the resistance to put you back in the correct place on the rolling belt, and if you fall backwards it will decrease to allow you to accelerate — and if you stop suddenly or brake, the Magnum reacts in a split second to prevent you from falling. Nonetheless, these figures are bound to improve over the next few years, due to competitors, like Bitelli, who are also producing super smart trainers:. Velodrome with an athletics track inside. This would be very impressive — a velodrome with an athletics track inside that can cater for both runners and cyclists in Zwift! The same applies to an athletics track for runners. With the advent of Zwift running, Zwift could build a velodrome, whether it be indoor or outdoor, complete with an athletics track to maintain interest with current users whilst attracting new customers. Organised track races could take place as frequently as current races do in-game, and would offer a different kind of racing. Imagine a scene where riders are storming around a velodrome, complete with a packed-out crowd and an electrifying atmosphere — Basically the Six Days of Ghent with an athletics track inside! I am fortunate to live relatively close to an outdoor velodrome Quibell Park in Scunthorpewhere I compete and race against men from all over the region. Quibell Park features an athletics track inside the velodrome, which allows athletes to race and train whilst riders cruise around on the banked tarmac:. Virtual Reality Headsets. Whether it be a bigger TV screen to Zwift with or a brand new smart trainer, there is a never-ending list of desired training equipment. The arrival of virtual reality VR headsets into the world of Zwift is an exciting and enticing prospect! Being able to swivel your head around and take in the landscape, road and riders surrounding you would be awesome to say the least. Modifications would probably need to be made to headsets to improve ventilation and cooling whilst exercising, although I would not be surprised to see VR-headsets purposefully built for virtual sports in a couple of years to come. Following the real life trend toward dirt and gravel riding and racing, Zwift today announced new training plans designed for gravel and mountain bike riders. The new Pebble Pounder gravel-road training plan targets entry—level riders who aspire to try their first gravel event. Running over the course of six weeks, it gives users three manageable rides per week ranging from 30 to 50 minutes and focuses on building endurance and aerobic capacity, as well as seated low—cadence efforts to build strength. While the gravel bike options are new, a gravel training plan is not. The app already offers an intermediate-level, 12—week training plan called Gravel Grinder that offers targeted endurance worksweet spot, and V02Max intervals. Dirt Destroyer is a plan for intermediate mountain bikers looking to sharpen their racing form. Along with those two high-intensity sessions per week, the six—week plan delivers a total of three to five rides per week ranging from 45 to 90 minutes. Singletrack Slayer is a new plan for advanced mountain bike racers, and will be available sometime early in according to Zwift. Gravel riders can outfit their avatar with a basic gravel bike, or purchase the Canyon Grailor the Cervelo Aspero using the company's "Drops" currency. The Canyon Inflite cyclocross bike is also available for riders who want a slightly sportier off—road bike with drop bars. Mountain bikers get a few rigs to choose from as well. Zwift offers a basic mountain bike for free, or users can use their sweat equity on Zwift, sweat is the gold standard backing its currency to purchase a Scott Spark RC, Canyon Luxor Specialized S—Works Epic. To keep the cycling experience as realistic as possible, Zwift tinkered with its rolling-resistance algorithm to account for fat tires. Gravel bikes will, as in real life, perform best on mixed surfaces but riders can expect them to be slower than road bikes on virtual pavement. Mountain bikes naturally have the highest amount of rolling resistance and they're equivalently slow on virtual roads. But as you'd expect they excel on singletrack. Bear in mind, if you want to ride Zwift singletrack you'll need to both download the steering function onto your smartphone as well as pass Zwift's steering test in order to unlock full singletrack functionality. Despite giving you the ability to swing your digital leg over a fat tire bike, Zwift does not have new gravel roads and singetrack to ride. However, it does open the door for more discipline—specific Zwift worlds in the future. The expanded bike options also suggest that bike choice could play more of a factor as Zwift racing evolves. The short test track is a twisting, rolling trail with a longer climb at the end. Simply turn the bars or tilt the bike to steer. Once steering rolls out to the community, Zwifters will receive a prompt on screen as they approach the steering segment in Titans Grove, asking whether they would like to test steering. Once the steering option is selected, Zwifters will then be transported to the start of the new trail. I must confess—it was a lot more fun to use than I thought it would be. Talk of steering in game has never been very interesting to me, but actually experiencing it for myself, even this early version, has changed my mind completely. The steering is quite responsive and sensitivity is easily adjustable. It even works by leaning, which I appreciate as a rocker plate user. Was it the steering? Was it the new singletrack? Probably a little of both. Mark my words: when racing on Zwift includes steering, the experience will be radically different than Zwift racing of today. And if you veer off trail, your speed drops and you lose placings. This is a smart move, because it will make it very clear which features are in early days and which are not. FutureWorks will be used to elicit feedback from the Zwift community at large, allowing a diverse user base to test new features and functionality before they are officially rolled out. The teams here at Zwift have so many innovative ideas, but Zwifters have historically only been able to try those that have gone through a lengthy development process. FutureWorks will allow us to deliver more of these ideas at a concept phase — allowing Zwifters to give us their direct feedback on what they want to see more of. This is a means of giving the community more of a voice on what they wish to see added in the game. My guess is some time in the next 2 weeks.
